Sessions include whole body (more accurately—partial body) cryotherapy, spot treatments and cryofacials. Our goal is to offer safe, innovative and time-efficient cold therapy treatments for:
• Peak athletic performance• Optimum health and reduced symptoms of illness or injury• Enhanced well-being and energy
Elite athletes, patients with chronic pain, and people seeking improved health, sleep, and mood have recently discovered the multiple benefits of cryotherapy.
Originating in Japan in 1978, cryotherapy was first used by Dr. Toshima Yamauchi to treat joint pain from rheumatoid arthritis. Using a brief exposure of the body to ultra-low temperatures, cryotherapy quickly became known as a powerful treatment for inflammatory disorders and injuries. Multiple applications for cryotherapy treatment have been discovered in the years since its spread to Europe and is rapidly growing across the United States. Capital Cryo is proud to introduce cryotherapy to the Washington, DC area.
Recovery Similar to the ice bath that professional athletes utilize after an extreme workout, cryotherapy reduces inflammation, resulting in quicker muscle recovery and decreased muscle soreness.
Relief Cryotherapy offers relief for people suffering from chronic pain, including symptoms resulting from inflammation-related diseases and skin disorders like fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and eczema. It has also been used to promote quicker healing post injury or surgery.
RejuvenationCryotherapy increases the body’s metabolic rate and collagen production, stimulating higher energy levels and a sense of well-being. With consistent use, clients notice an improvement in mood, sleep patterns and skin tone.
